What same-day teeth means

Same-day teeth — what many people call “teeth in a day” — means your implants are placed and a fixed set of teeth is screwed onto them in the same visit. It is how full-arch treatment such as All-on-4 works at Perla: you never leave the office without teeth.

The teeth you leave with are a fixed provisional bridge. It doesn't come out, it doesn't cover the roof of your mouth, and you wear it while the implants heal.

The day itself

  • Before. Your plan is made on a 3D CBCT scan taken here in the office, so every implant position is decided in advance.
  • Surgery. Any remaining teeth are removed and the implants are placed, with local anesthesia alone, oral sedation or IV sedation — your choice with Dr. Rodriguez.
  • Your teeth. Before you go home, fixed provisional teeth are screwed onto the implants.
  • Home. With any sedation, someone drives you home and stays with you for the rest of the day.

While you heal

The implants bond with the bone over the following months — usually one to six, depending on your bone and how you heal. You keep to soft foods, avoid hard, crunchy and sticky foods that can chip the provisional, and come in for check-ups. All-on-4 recovery walks through it.

Your final teeth

Once the implants have healed, the provisional is replaced with your final bridge: zirconia on a titanium bar, designed with our in-house ceramist and fitted to your face and your bite. Zirconia or acrylic explains why we use zirconia.

Who it suits

Same-day teeth is for people missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, with teeth that are failing or loose from gum disease, or with a denture that no longer works. Many people who were told they don't have enough bone are still candidates once the 3D scan shows where the bone is. Read told you don't have enough bone?

Cost and financing

What affects the cost of full-arch implants explains each factor. Many patients spread the cost with financing:
